On Friday, April 1, a benefit was held in honor of Chad Peters. A local father, husband, son and friend who had lost his battle with stomach cancer. Friends and family came together to share food, drinks and memories, and to support Chad’s family through their CRUSH EVERYTHING event.
The room bustled with conversation, tears and laughter, as people moved around the Elks Lodge in their PETERS #15 t-shirts exchanging stories, smiles and hugs. I am reminded even now, having been present in that moment, of how evident it became to me of how much he was loved and how incredibly he will be missed. Not just by loved ones, but by an entire community. That is a clear indication to me of a life that, although cut short, was a life well lived.
Our thoughts and prayers are with his family.
